The Swiss company ALFA Klebstoffe AG appoints Asia-Pacific Chief Jochen Schanbacher to the Executive Board.
To meet the growing demand for eco-friendly adhesives in the Asian region, the Swiss adhesive specialist is expanding its business with SIMALFA®. From now on, the company will increase the availability of its sustainably produced, environmentally friendly adhesives in Asia.
Back in 2018, ALFA Klebstoffe AG, with Jochen Schanbacher as General Manager, established its Shanghai-based subsidiary, SIMALFA China Co. Ltd.
Since then, the Asian business has gained significantly in importance because much of the production of mattresses, upholstered furniture, car seats, and other products for international brands takes place in Asia. Growing awareness of sustainable materials and increasingly stringent environmental regulations are driving the demand for SIMALFA®’s eco-friendly, water-based adhesives.
Thomas Simmler, CEO of ALFA Klebstoffe AG, commented: “The ‘Made in Switzerland’
label is highly respected and trusted not only by corporations in Europe and America but also in Asia. Jochen Schanbacher has leveraged this reputation over the past five years to establish SIMALFA® successfully in China. To lend further emphasis to the importance of the Asian market, we are delighted to welcome Jochen Schanbacher to the Executive Board. We are confident that this market will be crucial for our industry in the future and that Jochen will continue to develop it in an excellent manner.
Jochen Schanbacher has been active in Asia for over a decade and has worked with SIMALFA® for six years. His technical training at Siemens, combined with a business degree from the University of St. Gallen, complements his extensive experience in Asia. Impressively , he has built and expanded SIMALFA® China, and today he leads operations across the entire Asia-Pacific region. “We all feel the increasing fragmentation of the global economy and the growing importance of sustainable business practices. With SIMALFA®, a motivated team, eco-friendly products, and a spirit of innovation, we wish to contribute to greater sustainability. The demand for water-based adhesives from Asian manufacturers is remarkable, as rising living standards are also increasing environmental awareness”, stated Jochen Schanbacher, Managing Director Asia Pacific at ALFA Klebstoffe AG.
As a member of the Executive Board, Schanbacher aims to demonstrate the high quality of SIMALFA®’s products, R&D, and production capabilities in the dynamic Asian market. He emphasizes efficient, reliable, and flexible collaboration between employees, customers, and partners across the globe, believing that these will continue to be the key to future international success.
